What would your thoughts be on “Letting Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame” if you were a Major League Baseball player? Would you forgive his gambling and vote for Rose in the Hall of Fame? Or are you against Rose ever making it into the Hall of Fame?

He shouldn’t get in till after he dies. Same goes for anyone caught utilizing narcotics or performance enhancers.

“If you were in Major League Baseball, how would you feel about ‘Letting Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame’? Would you forgive his gambling and vote for Rose in the Hall of Fame? Or are you against Rose ever making it into the Hall of Fame? (28-November-2023) If I were MLB, Rose would never be restored until and until he earned it. He will not be automatically reinstated. It is unclear how he will earn it, since he has been exiled for 34 years and has done nothing to improve his situation.

Only action can help him clean up the disaster he created. When his impending death comes, his window of chance closes. Tick-tockā€¦. Permanent ineligibility takes a long time to expire. His mortality is immaterial. His hopes of altering his life end when he dies. To be sure, his chances of reinstatement are slim, but they are the only ones he has. I don’t care what Hall does. While highly esteemed, it is merely a museum, a recorder, and a curator of history. In addition, it has devised an eligibility policy. Rose is currently and indefinitely ineligible. A situation of affairs for which he alone is responsible.
