With Jaylen Brown out, Jordan Walsh played for the Boston Celtics.

Jaylen Brown’s absence due to a nagging shoulder ailment, which is not bad enough to keep him out of the NBA’s Slam Dunk competition during All-Star weekend on February 17, was the immediate cause of Walsh’s first-quarter minutes.

Since Victor Oladipo in 2018, Brown became the first All-Star to compete in the dunk competition. He anticipates including one or more teammates in his performance.

While Joe Mazzulla is probably happy that Walsh received meaningful playing time, No. 27 won’t be in the starting lineup when the playoffs roll around. On certain nights, when the rotations go shorter, even Sam Hauser can have trouble getting to the court.

After the Boston Celtics defeated the Heat, Jaylen Brown sent a warning message to Duncan Robinson.

After the Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 110-106 on February 11, Jaylen Brown probably felt he made his point loud and clear enough when he told Robinson to never consider doing something similar when the two teams play again in the postseason or in 2024–2025.

Following the game, Brown stated, “I think there was no issue for me” (h/t Boston.com). He didn’t want to play defense, so I believe he knew exactly what he was attempting to do when he tried to get tangled up and other things. I was attempting to extricate my arm since he was still clinging on when we called the foul.
