“You don’t need [Justin] Fields,” Terry Bradshaw tells the Pittsburgh Steelers in response to Kenny Pickett’s speculations.

The legendary coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Terry Bradshaw, is adamant that Kenny Pickett remains the team’s quarterback.

Pittsburgh Steelers legend discusses the team’s quarterback problems.

During a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” the four-time Super Bowl champion did not hold back in expressing his opinion about what the Steelers should do with Pickett, and that is to stick with the 2022 first-round pick. Additionally, Bradshaw stated unequivocally that the Steelers would not consider trade for quarterback Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears if it were up to him (h/t CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo).

Fields is not necessary, Bradshaw remarked. “Make do with what you have. Simply build up, Pickett. Get a different receiver for him. Give him a tight end that can burn. Give him a guard and another tackle. had the capacity to keep him safe. And put guys outside for him. Right now, this is a passing league. Get him some educated people who can run and catch the football.

A number of teams have been mentioned as possible landing spots for Fields in a trade; he already has concerns about his own job security in Windy City. Among them are the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the Steelers have stated that they are dedicated to Pickett, it is reasonable for them to search for improvements behind center if the chance arises before the 2024 NFL season. In addition to trading for a quarterback, they have the 20th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which they can use to select a new signal-caller.

With just two professional seasons under his belt, Pickett has probably not yet reached his peak. It will likely be his prove-it year for Pittsburgh, which has failed to go past the wild-card round in each of the previous six seasons, if the Steelers choose to start him in Week 1 of the 2024 season.
