- The college basketball transfer portal is not for the timid, and Mark Pope, the recently hired head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, knew he would have his hands full when he arrived in Lexington. Pope was left to restructure the whole Kentucky basketball team when every player either left for the NBA Draft, the transfer portal, or the squad’s eligibility ran out. He promptly got to work, though, and the Wildcats have already signed seven players through the transfer portal. Kerr Kriisa, a former guard for West Virginia and Arizona, is the most recent athlete to commit to Kentucky as he declared his plan to attend the Wildcats on May 1.
