Along with RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich has the smallest team in the Bundesliga and will be looking to add players during the winter transfer window. The Bavarians will be especially eager to improve the midfield after losing Marcel Sabitzer and Ryan Gravenberch. According to rumors, Bayern has their eyes on Assan Ouédraogo of FC Schalke 04, who is reportedly Germany’s newest hot prospect. Journalist Florian Plettenberg for Sky Sport claims that the interest appears to be “concrete.”
Though not the only team interested in the 17-year-old is Bayern, they are.
The lower release clause for Bundesliga clubs is Plettenberg’s most intriguing nugget of information. This may make things more difficult for international teams while favoring Bayern Munich and rival RB Leipzig. However, according to the most recent Transfermarkt report, AC Milan is presently in the lead in the fight to sign Ouédraogo due to earlier interest during the summer transfer window:
A favorite is reportedly solidifying as a number of bidders, including FC Bayern, are claimed to have lately entered the race for Schalke’s top talent Assan Ouédraogo. The most tangible interest at the moment is that of AC Milan, as reported by Sky and Gianluca Di Marzio in Italy. In light of this, the Rossoneri’s top brass hopes to speak with the young man this week.
Given that the talent is there, Bayern has recently not been bashful about giving 17-year-old players opportunities; Jamal Musiala and Mathys Tel are two outstanding examples. However, it’s likely that Ouédraogo will receive more playing time somewhere else. Minutes can be the deciding factor in getting his signature at the youthful age of 17.
How do you feel? Would The Bavarians be wise to sign Assan Ouédraogo? Please tell us in the comments.
