Breaking News: Fabrizio Romano drops “big update on Kevin de Bruyne

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano asserts that Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City rejected an offer from Saudi Pro League clubs this summer.

 

De Bruyne, 32, one of the top midfielders of his generation, is the highlight of Pep Guardiola’s star-studded City squad. The Belgian has made 358 appearances across all competitions since joining the Etihad in the summer of 2015, contributing 96 goals and an impressive 153 assists.

In 49 appearances across tournaments last season, De Bruyne helped City’s record continental treble-winning campaign with 10 goals and 31 assists. Seven goals and 18 assists were recorded in 32 games as Guardiola and company won the Premier League three consecutive years.

 

The 32-year-old was approached by Saudi Pro League teams after City’s first UEFA Champions League victory, despite having a contract with the Etihad until 2025. According to Romano, De Bruyne’s response was a resounding “No, thanks”. The transfer specialist shared this on Instagram:

 

 

In order to treat a hamstring problem, Kevin De Bruyne underwent surgery and is temporarily out.
