According to reports, Kylian Mbappe has already chosen between playing for Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Frenchman turned down a new contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer, raising questions about his future there.
He was consequently made to practice apart from the starting eleven, but new manager Luis Enrique has since allowed him to return and given him the captain’s armband.
The forward is still being connected to a number of European teams, including Arsenal and Liverpool, two of the biggest teams in the Premier League, despite this.
Arsenal and Liverpool could now be serious contenders for the 24-year-old’s signature after Real Madrid reportedly abandoned their pursuit of him earlier this month, citing the exorbitant wage demands involved in a deal. However, the Gunners appear to have the upper hand, as The Independent claims that Mbappe would prefer to play for the Emirates if he were to move to the Premier League.
According to the article, he finds Mikel Arteta’s initiative in north London intriguing, and it was also important in helping him secure Declan Rice from West Ham during the summer
Back in 2017, when Mbappe was still playing for Monaco, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly made a bid of £87 million for the 19-year-old.
But the young player found the idea of playing at PSG with players like Neymar too alluring.
“In 2017, we had communication. Despite my decision to go a different route, Wenger didn’t hold it against me. In 2018, Mbappe noted, “He was a gentleman and wished me good luck.”
