In a best-case scenario, Mohamed Salah inks a contract and moves to Liverpool in January.

Although Liverpool has had a great start to 2023–24, there is still work to be done both on and off the field. One aspect is Mohamed Salah signing a new deal.

Liverpool’s new season has gotten off to a strong start on the field. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and other summer signings have adjusted well, while Ryan Gravenberch is also shown promising long-term potential for the Reds.

Wataru End has, as expected, shown to be somewhat more restricted thus far, but he was an essential component in giving Liverpool’s midfield depth after losing so many players. He might play a crucial role in helping the Reds advance in the Europa League and domestic cups, which might be their greatest chances of winning a trophy this year.

As has become customary in recent years, Manchester City continues to be the favorite to win the Premier League. Even still, after only eight games, the Premier League standings show Liverpool inside the top four and only three points behind Spurs in first place. Those situations may have easily been overturned if a VAR catastrophe hadn’t occurred.

So far, things are going well, but there is still more to be done. In order to ensure that the long-term success of the Reds can get back on track, Liverpool.com has looked at what has to be resolved before the end of the season off the field at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah’s agreement

Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool will be decided in one way or another. He will have one year remaining on the record-breaking contract he signed in 2022 at the end of the current campaign, which may imply one of two things

Either Liverpool should cash in and sell to Saudi Arabia to raise money for a summer of potential replacement moves, or it should work out a deal for Salah to stay. Given that the Egyptian icon is still at the height of his abilities and that the Saudi Pro League’s interest is unlikely to wane in the future, the latter would seem to be the best course of action for both sides.
