Wingers for Arsenal Before Thursday afternoon’s critical Premier League match against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are both questionable due to injuries.
Injuries are a concern for Arsenal ahead of today’s crucial Premier League match against Manchester City. Bukayo Saka, a recent graduate of the Hale End system, is questionable after being ejected from the UEFA Champions League match against RC Lens on Tuesday night.
However, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has since revealed that the England international is in contention to play the defending league champions, giving the north Londoners a big boost in light of the fact that fellow winger Gabriel Martinelli has been out for the past three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Jurrien Timber, a chronic absentee who would likely miss the majority of the 2023–24 season, is still undergoing treatment. With that said, football.london has compiled all the injury updates from Emirates Stadium in advance of this afternoon’s highly-anticipated matchup with City.
Saka Bukayo
Bukayo Saka kept his place in the Premier League by being selected for the match against Bournemouth last weekend after sitting out the Carabao Cup victory over Brentford in the middle of the week.
However, after netting the game’s first goal and taking a series of hard challenges in the second half, Saka hobbled off the field and was replaced by Fabio Vieira for the final 15 minutes.
Four days later, Saka started the match against RC Lens but was replaced after 33 minutes due to a possibly serious hamstring injury. Saka reportedly sustained a hamstring tweak and a knock to the thigh, but the injury is not thought to be life-threatening, according to the Mail.
