Ollie Watkins confirmed he wants to terminate his contract with Aston villa

Following his hat-trick in Aston Villa’s 6-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday, Ollie Watkins stated he is letting his game speak for itself while rumors regarding his contract with the team continue to circulate.

 

Watkins was signed by Villa in 2020 after leaving Brentford, and his contract is now in its last two years. He scored his second hat-trick of the season in a commanding victory over Brighton in the Saturday noon kickoff.

 

It came after a week in which rumors circulated that he and Villa were almost certain to reach an extended agreement.

When TNT Sports questioned Watkins about the rumors, he said, “I just try and let my football do the talking.” I want to score goals and contribute to the team’s victory. The world off the field exists in its own realm.

 

Villa is currently the team Watkins has scored the most goals for in his career, following his last three goals. Due to his performance, he has developed connections with teams like Arsenal and Chelsea, but they may pass on him.

 

Rather, given that England boss Gareth Southgate was present for Watkins’ performance against Brighton, the next team he attempts to impress may be his national squad.

When asked how much he has improved under Emery, Watkins said, “Always.” He keeps talking to me and telling me to work hard every day that goals will come if I haven’t scored.

 

Watkins scored 16 goals in all competitions the previous season, but he hasn’t set a goal scoring target for this one.

 

When questioned about his goals, the gifted Torquay native said, “I’m not sure.” ideally a great deal more. I’m having a terrific day overall.
