latest Birmingham Aston Villa newsLive previews of the Forest players Unai Emery’s team may see on Sunday at the City Ground
Five players for Nottingham Forest are expected to be sidelined for this afternoon’s Premier League match against Aston Villa (2pm) due to injuries.
Villa will be trying to win six of the previous seven matches. The team led by Unai Emery is off to a great start in the league. After defeating Luton Town 3-1 the previous weekend, Villa Park recorded its 12th consecutive victory.
Conversely, Forest hasn’t gotten off to the kind of start they were hoping for. Despite having only two victories, Steve Cooper’s team is still unbeaten at the City Ground this season and now sits in 16th place.
With Taiwo Awoniyi doubtful and Chris Wood, Divock Origi, and Callum Hudson-Odoi sidelined, head coach Steve Cooper is lacking in attacking alternatives. Cooper stated to NottinghamshireLive, “We need to manage Taiwo as a player.” With his injury, he’s in a bit of a complicated predicament.
“It is and will continue to be an ongoing one. He finds it more frustrating than everyone else. This has seriously hampered him from progressing as he was. We’ll check to see if he can spend the weekend with us. Although we hope he is, anything might happen.”
