Report: Steelers has made final decision to Diontae Johnson Trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not turning down bids for Diontae Johnson.

Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers are willing to deal wide receiver Diontae Johnson if the price is right, according to NFL insider Tony Pauline.

Johnson is entering the final year of his deal and will earn $15.83 million this season. Last year, he had 51 receptions for 717 yards and five touchdowns, but he has yet to eclipse 1,000 yards since signing his second contract.

According to Pauline, Johnson is not on the trading block, but the team will not turn down bids this offseason.

“While it’s not fair to say Johnson is on the trading block, several people tell me the Steelers are open to moving the receiver if they receive fair compensation,” Pauline writes in her column.

The Steelers visited with some of the top wide receiver prospects at the NFL Combine and have been identified as a potential trade partner for Washington star Rome Odunze. If they choose another wide receiver, they may be more comfortable moving on from Johnson before the season.

The value of his trade return is unknown, but the Steelers should expect to acquire a Day 2 draft pick for their 27-year-old wide receiver.
