Leo, the son of Bjorn Borg, won his first match on the ATP Tour at the Swedish Open, defeating Elias Ymer in straight sets.
Using a wildcard entry, 20-year-old Borg defeated fellow Swede Ymer 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 at the Bastad Tennis Stadium.
Borg primarily competes in the men’s professional game on the ITF Tour, where he is ranked a pitiful 437th.
I’ve spent years and years working toward this, and sometimes you get what you deserve, and today I won,” he remarked.
Following his victory on Tuesday, Borg will play world number 113 Federico Coria of Argentina in the tournament’s last-16 round.
But the first-round result was not to be repeated as Borg defeated Coria 6-4 6-2 in an hour and twenty-six minutes on Wednesday.
