The NBA legend Sam Hauser was desired by the Celtics.

Hauser’s historic evening was cut short by an ankle injury.

The stage was set for some unusual performances on Sunday with the finalization of the Boston Celtics injury report. With Derrick White, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jaylen Brown out, Boston’s supporting cast would have an opportunity to perform well.

No one realized history was on the horizon.

Sam Hauser scored ten points in a mere 22:49 of play. Hauser made the most threes in the fewest minutes out of all the players who have made 10 or more in 94 appearances.

With an ankle injury, Hauser left the game in the middle of the third quarter. Although Jayson Tatum stated that he “seems to be doing fine” and Joe Mazzulla stated that he had a “cautionary X-ray,” the condition left additional history unresolved.

Tatum stated, “We were attempting to persuade him to smash the record.”

Nobody knew that history would soon unfold.

Hauser left the game in the middle of the third quarter due to an ankle injury. The condition left additional history unanswered, despite statements from Joe Mazzulla that he underwent a “cautionary X-ray” and Jayson Tatum that he “seems to be doing fine.”

Tatum said, “We were attempting to persuade him to smash the record.”

The record for the most threes made in a single game is held by Klay Thompson. On October 29, 2018, he played just 27 minutes and drained 14. Hauser flipped his ankle on a Washington Wizards bench player while he was still within striking reach.

15 threes was an attainable goal with Washington’s 30th-ranked defense and a set of hungry teammates supporting him. The Celtics were aware of it.

Horford remarked, “We shooters, we know those records.” “Then, the Celtics team I was familiar with from the previous season was led by Derrick White, who started out strong and finished with seven or eight points, maybe even nine threes. As a result, we supported Sam and were fully aware of it.

Hauser ended the game with a career-high 30 points, despite his short night. With his superior off-ball movement and floor spacing, Hauser carefully selected his locations as the Celtics destroyed the Wizards.

Above all, Hauser’s incredible evening wasn’t contrived. It wasn’t the result of prearranged farces against a weaker squad. Hauser played his game, the Celtics played theirs, and it all fell into place.

The method that the game of basketball should be played.

Mazzulla remarked, “I love how he got his shots within the flow of our execution.” And that’s what makes him a weapon. His ability to just put two on the ball and generate opportunities for both himself and others to shoot. Thus, it was entertaining to watch him shoot them as well as to watch his guys pursue him.

The Celtics located Hauser when he identified his locations. “He made every shot really well, and we just did a great job of identifying the guy with the hot hand,” Tatum remarked.
