LIVE: Liverpool at West Ham!
Liverpool hopes to keep up their winning streak against West Ham after four straight victories since their season-opening draw at Chelsea. On Thursday night, Jurgen Klopp’s team defeated Austrian team LASK in the Europa League. On Saturday, they host the Hammers as the first of four Premier League games that will culminate in the Merseyside derby next month.
In midweek European competition, West Ham defeated Serbian team Backa Topola and has had a promising start under David Moyes. They fell short against Manchester City last weekend, but they’ll give Liverpool a tough test.
However, Moyes has a poor track record against Liverpool, having dropped 23 of their top-flight contests—just one short of the Premier League record for the most managerial losses to a single foe. Follow all the action from Anfield beginning at 2 PM BST.
Kurt Zouma, the captain of West Ham, believes the Hammers want to win at Anfield.
He declared during a pre-game TV interview, “We are confident. We certainly came here to win the game. We have to hurt them. We anticipate a challenging game, but we’re prepared.
“The group just got better. This season, we are all pulling in the same direction, understanding the manager’s game plan, and we are all pleased with how we are performing right now. Today, we’re going to focus on being as clinical and reliable in the back as we have been in the past.
