Leo, the son of Björn Borg, triumphs in his maiden ATP Tour match.

Sweden’s BASTAD (AP) — There’s another Borg among the ATP match winners, more than 40 years later.

On Tuesday, Leo Borg, the son of 11-time Grand Slam champion Björn Borg, triumphed in his first ATP tour main-draw match.

The 20-year-old Borg defeated Swedish compatriot Elias Ymer 7-6(5), 6-3 at the Nordea Open, putting his hands on his hips and beaming widely after securing the victory with an ace on the first of three match points.

After the game, Borg remarked, “It’s crazy.” “After years of hard work, I finally see the fruits of my labor.

“And I win today, and I’m really happy with how I played and how mentally strong I was. I’m really happy about that.”

Borg had dropped his opening two matches at the tour level.
