Messi statement on Luis Diaz transfer to Barcelona

Lionel Messi defeated Argentina in a nail-biting final to win the World Cup on Sunday.

The winger for Liverpool, Luis Diaz, feels that because of Lionel Messi’s incredible career, the football world “owed” him a World Cup.

In a thrilling final at the Lusail Stadium, the Paris Saint-Germain forward helped Argentina end their 36-year World Cup drought when they overcame the defending champions, France.

Following goals from Messi, Angel Di Maria, and 23-year-old wonder Kylian Mbappe, the two teams had to settle the 22nd World Cup final on penalties, from which Argentina won owing to Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez’s heroics.

Apparently delighted, Diaz posted a photo of Messi kissing the World Cup trophy on his story, telling his 3.6 million Instagram followers, “All is said. Football owed you.” The Albiceleste became the first South American team to win the World Cup since Brazil in 2002.

Due to Colombia’s subpar CONMEBOL qualifying campaign, Diaz was not included in this year’s final in Qatar, where they were unable to qualify as one of the region’s representatives.
